Winter Bike Maintenance Class: Starts February 3rd

Join BBW for a six week comprehensive course on Bicycle Maintenance. During this six week course we will provide detailed instruction and opportunities for hands on learning to give you the confidence you need to perform regular maintenance of your bicycle. The six week schedule will be as follows:

Week 1: Course Introduction/Getting to Know Your Bike/ Safe Cycling Basics
Week 2: Roadside Emergency & Hands On Flat Change
Week 3: Bearings - What are they, what do they do and how to adjust them.
Week 4: Wheels - Covers the basics of what parts make a wheel and how they function together to keep you rolling. We will also provide you with instruction and hand on learning so you can practice truing and tensioning wheels.
Week 5: Brakes - Covers the various types of brakes, provide the general basics of how they each work, and time for hands on learning how to adjust your brakes.
Week 6: Derailleurs - How derailleurs and shifters work and time for hands on learning how to adjust your derailleurs.

Class will meet every Monday evening from 6pm to 8pm starting February 3rd. Class sizes are limited to ensure everyone gets ample attention and time to practice - minimum enrollment is 4 students, maximum is 8, so sign up now! The series of 6 classes is $300 per student and requires a $150 deposit to hold your spot. Individual classes can be purchased for $60 per class, however we will prioritize registration space for series students. As such we will not take deposits to hold individuals classes.
