From The Minds of the Workers

Union organizing drive at Starbucks

Yesterday I got the chance to visit Bill Barry’s labor history class (http://student.ccbcmd.edu/~wbarry/) where two of my fellow workers, Erik Forman and Ted Dewberry, were speaking about their campaign to organize their workplace.  These fine gentlemen work at the Starbucks coffee shop at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  They spoke about the Solidarity Unionism model of organizing, and about the challenges in improving the jobs at one of the countries truly vicious anti-union employers.

If you work at Starbucks or know someone who does and you are interested in learning more or signing up for the union, please visit their website:

I am posting some you tube clips to catch you up on this campaign by our union the Industrial Workers of the World.
