From The Minds of the Workers

Baltimore Cycling News

This morning as I was cruising my bike related Google alters, I came across two stories I found worthy of sharing.

The first comes from the Baltimore Sun and is a pretty good summary of debate over the usage of Loch Raven Reservoir. As many of you may already know, this ongoing debate has come to a head, so to speak, in the last week or so. Sadly, it looks like despite the many efforts made by MORE and the cycling community, Loch Raven will no longer be the mountain bike sanctuary it once was.

The second story was featured by the Baltimore Brew and presents Gerald Neily’s vision for how we can cost effectively transform our city streets into functioning transit ways for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians a like. I think this article introduces some great ideas and I have to agree with Neily’s point that these complete streets projects must be viewed through a larger vision and plan for Baltimore streets in general.
